100 miles can seem like a long distance and it is the distance I will ride on my bike Saturday August 9th to raise money to support finding a cure for Cancer as part of Pelotonia ’14. 100 miles is really nothing . . . nothing . . . when you stand for the first time face to face with a friend, a relative, a loved one who is in the throes of their battle with Cancer. 100 miles is a walk in the park when you hug your frail loved one and look into their eyes and realize the burden they are carrying, and the courage they are bringing to the fight.
This year, I’ll gladly ride 100 miles with inspiration from all those who have risen to meet the challenge of a Cancer diagnosis head on. I’ll ride for those that won, those that lost and those who will someday fight.
This year I’m riding for everyone.
