Recovering @ Home 3.3.16

Yesterday afternoon 3.2.16 I was released from the hospital to recover at home and be with my family. My kids were genuinely excited to have me home.  I know because they each sent me a txt message that said so.  And . . .  Their hearts lept with joy when they discovered my dietary restrictions eliminated me as a competitor for any of the sweet treats friends have brought us.

In all seriousness my family has been terrific as this little episode has disrupted the continuity of their daily life. They haven’t blinked an eye and have kept rolling along with an inspiring presence of normalcy. I could not be more fortunate to have their patience and thoughtful understanding.
Thanks everyone for your support and kind thoughts and prayers. Thanks especially to Rob, Dan, Brian, and Bret for stopping by to see me. It made the time pass quickly and helped accelerate my release from the hospital.

  1. Bobby, you are amazing, and I can see God working through you. We continue to pray for your complete recovery. Tim is here with us in the desert this week, and we’ve, as usual, loved it. We are all praying for you!

  2. During my recover time at home I rediscovered “comfort” TV, as we have dietary restrictions and cannot indulge in many “comfort” foods, I binged on comfort TV. Recommendations, Andy Griffith is a great one. Very easy on the soul and if Ron Howard is not the best child actor on TV of all time, I don’t know who is. One of my favorite questions about AG came from my youngest Elle as she watched it w/ me – is Andy Griffith a reality show! Yes, honey, just w/out all of the screaming, yelling and nonsense of most reality shows – think of “The Real Housewives of Mayberry”. Enjoy your recovery time, and God Bless you Bob. Stay away from the News Channels – nothing but “uncomfortable” TV there.

  3. Great news Bob! Keep #crushingit! Continued prayers for your healing and no more bumps in the road, and for your family that they continue to give you strength while they continue to receive strength from our Lord!
